Hello! My name is Elizabeth. I’m 27 years old, born and raised in Bodø, Norway, and I need your help. Since I came out as trans in 2021 my life has improved a lot, despite the challenges I’ve met along the way. I have fought for my identity and have come closer to what it means to be who I really am.
Despite the improvements in my day-to-day life there is one big change I need in order to live my life with dignity. My genitals are a huge source of sorrow and discomfort. They limit what I can wear, what I can do, and they make me feel claustrophobic in my own body. They are a source of major dysphoria for me. Because of this, bottom surgery is essential for me to align my physical body with my true gender. I sometimes feel like the problems I face with this part of my body overshadow all the progress I’ve made, and I just want to make my body harmonious with my lived gender and to feel comfortable in my own skin. I now have the opportunity to do something about my situation, but I need help in order to achieve it.
Due to the current state of the Norwegian healthcare system regarding trans people, gender dysphoria, and gender-affirming surgery I decided to apply for a surgery date at a private clinic in Thailand. I’m lucky to have gotten an appointment for May 2026, but I’m scared I won’t be able to cover the cost of the surgery and everything surrounding it. Due to chronic illness I can only work a small amount and money is very tight.
I am very thankful for any help, and thank you for reading my story. If you could help me with any amount that would mean the world to me and bring me closer to my goal.
