As some of you may know, last week my Aunt Elizabeth was diagnosed with stage four metastatic melanoma that has spread to her brain. Elizabeth was hospitalized at Rex for 8 days. During her hospitalization, Elizabeth had a lengthy ICU stay and underwent numerous tests and scans to formulate a diagnosis and treat her symptoms. Elizabeth started radiation while in the hospital and is continuing daily radiation while she is at home. In the coming weeks, Elizabeth will start immunotherapyn to fight the melanoma. Elizabeth has been incredibly strong throughout this entire process and is ready to fight cancer!

Unfortunately, Elizabeth does not have insurance and does not meet Medicaid requirements, so the medical care she has received and will continue to receive must be paid for out of pocket. Elizabeth is not one to ask for help, so our family is asking for it on her behalf!
