HELP Nurse Elizabeth Deatrick INOPERABLEBrainTumor

Hi my name is Heather Brown, I am helping this family coordinate urgent financial support. My dear sweet friend, Elizabeth Deatrick, has been diagnosed with a INOPERABLE BRAIN TUMOR in July 2021, which is negatively impacting her life. She is pictured with her beautiful wife, Nancy, and her two children, Cooper, age 4, and Davy, age 9. Elizabeth has been a Labor & Delivery Nurse in the Bay Area for the past 8 years... after going to school and working at Loma Linda University Hospital for 10 years previously.

 

 

 

Elizabeth is a nurse that has worked tirelessly through Covid and now this tumor has taken over her life. She is unable to work to meet her families financial needs, unable to complete chores to raise her family and care for herself, and is unable to care for her own children due to severe pain, double vision, nausea, extreme headaches, and blurry vision which includes the inability to drive.

 

The brain tumor is pushing on the cerebellum and the cranial nerves that control Elizabeth's eyes. (The blob in the lower left corner of the brain scan below.) Additional opinions are being sought.

Elizabeth has gone through multiple brain scans and seen multiple doctors with many procedures, including hospital stays and lumbar punctures and venograms, and of course the shaved brain tumor skull.

 

Due to the extensive care that Elizabeth is requiring, her wife is drowning in work at home caring for her and the children which has limited Nancy's ability to work as well which is further negatively impacting their finances and functioning.

 

Many of you may have remembered that Davy was seriously injured as a baby and has some special needs that the family must also continually adapt around which adds additional financial needs.

 

Help is needed to cover the mortgage, the utilities, groceries, diapers and wipes, child care, nursing care for Elizabeth, transportation support, housekeeping assistance, and all associated extra medical expenses, such as medication.
