On behalf of my family and I, we will like to give a warm thank you to all that contributed and for the prayers for me and my family. Thank you all for your generosity and love during this difficult time. Losing my husband Javier so suddenly and in a tragic way has been very overwhelming and surreal. Thank you all for your generous donations. We were able to pay back from the money loaned for the up front costs for the mortuary fees, the expenses for the cleaning and repairs from the extensive damages to his rental apartment after the accident, for the emergency air flights and car rentals, food, and for the unexpected time that I was unable to work after the accident. We will be using any left over funds to contribute for the cost of travel to Central America to pay respect to my husband's family and elderly parents. I will forever miss my husband and cherish the times my family and I had spent together with him.

On Monday, January 17, 2022, my sister Elizabeth Cruz-Castro lost the love of her life, her husband of 23 years, Javier Castro. He passed unexpectedly from the burn injuries he had received from a propane tank that erupted in the rental apartment that he was living in Tijuana, Mexico. He was put in an induced coma because he was in a lot of pain but unfortunately he passed away 3 days after. With this unexpected tragedy, my sister and her family were left to cover for unforeseen expenses.
This GoFundMe is being created to help pay for expenses for funeral costs, traveling expenses, repairs to the apartment rental where the accident happened (renter is requiring for damages to be paid), and for the lost time from work after the accident and the time to arrange for the funeral.
