Help Elizabeth fund 5 years cancer medication

Donation protected
My name is Elizabeth Awo-Ejeh, and I’m a 28-year-old who used to own a small salon business.
As you may know or perhaps not in Nigeria, access to healthcare is a heavy burden in Nigeria. There is no meaningful health insurance for most citizens, and cancer patients are expected to pay for every procedure, test, and medication out of pocket. It’s a system that leaves many with no choice but to fight for their lives while drowning in financial hardship. And that’s why I’m raising this GoFundMe—to ask for your help in staying alive.

In 2022, while I was in 200 level at the university, I was diagnosed with ER/PR-positive breast cancer at just 25 years old. My world was turned upside down.

Before my diagnosis, I was a hairstylist and owned a small salon that helped me support myself through school. But when cancer came, I had to sell everything—my salon equipment and eventually the entire shop—just to afford the cost of treatment. I lost not just my health but also my business, delayed my education and financial stability. Today, I have no job or source of income.

Despite these challenges, I completed 8 rounds of chemotherapy, had a mastectomy, and underwent 25 sessions of radiotherapy. I am grateful to still be here. But my fight is far from over.

Why I’m Asking for Help
To stay cancer-free, I must continue daily hormone therapy for the next five years—a treatment that is crucial in reducing the risk of recurrence. Unfortunately, I can not afford these medications, as I currently have no means to support myself.

There are weeks when I go without this medication simply because I can’t afford it. Each missed dose increases the chance that cancer could return—and that thought deeply scares me.

I am asking for your help to:

Afford my hormone therapy for the next 5 years

Pay for routine medical tests and check-ups

Manage the side effects and maintain my health

Why This Matters
In Nigeria, many people die not because cancer is untreatable but because they can’t afford to treat it. Your donation—no matter how small—could mean the difference between life and death for me.

You’re not just helping me survive—you’re giving me a chance to truly live again.

How You Can Help
Donate whatever you can—every little bit helps.

Here is the estimated monthly cost of my medications:

Zoladex: 300,000(£140.73)

Tamoxifen:#19,850 ( £9.49)

Calcimax: #3500 (£1.67)
