I happened to text Elizabeth from House of the Traveler and Mayan Cooking school today and found out she was having abdominal surgery today because her veins are no longer working for her dialysis treatment. She said kidney transplants aren’t available for her in Guatemala. She told me the hospital costs for the peritoneal dialysis will be $80,000 Q’s, or $10,000 USD.
