I would love nothing more than to be able to hop in the family car and just go for a drive unfortunately, I have been housebound for the last seven years.

Hi, my name is Elise, I am 26 years old and reside in Country Victoria. I have been permanently in a wheelchair since the age of four. I suffer from multiple conditions, which include Epilepsy, Scoliosis and Long QT Syndrome and require 24/7 care . I am able to communicate through an eyegaze device and I crave to be social and make friends with people my own age. My family and I have had a rough life but consider ourselves lucky to be here. Due to my disability, I have had to overcome some very serious illnesses over the years. My Mum Deborah, who is my full time carer had a serious car accident in 2001 and can no longer lift me or my wheelchair in and out of the family car. She has been enduring ongoing medical ailments due to multiple cancers. She would like to continue caring for me at home, but our main problem is transport.

Most of my Specialists and treatments are located back in Melbourne. These regular appointments require around 5 hours of travel each way. My town does not have a wheelchair taxi and my family's car has become too old to meet the NDIS requirements for modification. 

During the 2020 bushfires my family and I were unable to evacuate for this same reason and were forced to stay and fight. It was a very traumatic time for us all.

We would like to raise enough funds to purchase a *Kia Carnival and accessories. The cost of this vehicle is approximately $65,000 however there are required accessories that are not covered by the NDIS modification. These accessories are around $5000.  
*The Kia Carnival being the cheapest vehicle on the market that allows a second row seat conversion enabling my Mum to reach me in the event of an emergency.
