Hi my name is Elisabeth. I’m a chef located in Brooklyn. My father is my best friend and greatest advocate. He is the reason I’m still here today. He is the kindest, most loving and genuine man. He really lights up a room. About a week and a half ago, my father suffered his first stroke. And a just a few days later, he suffered a massive stroke. As I write this, I am exhausted, and my usual ability to write with flair and dimension has been reduced to a rather elementary ability to really only state the facts. We are not out of the red yet. Things are still touch and go. He survived his craniotomy, but he’s still intubated. Needless to say, I need to be here for my best friend. My step mom needs help caring for him, and I want to support her in every way I can. I’m not great at asking for help. But in order to get back and forth from Chicago (and still keep my job that I love), I’m going to need some help financially. I’m asking for any and all donations to help me afford flights to and from Chicago for the next two months. Any little bit helps, and all will be appreciated.
