Help Elisabeth after being attacked by a bull shark in FL
Donation protected
Elisabeth was attacked by a shark on June 7th this past summer. She sustained severe injuries that include an amputated left arm (mid forearm) along with severe trauma to her groin area. She was in the hospital for 61 days and has been home since August of 2024. Her plan of care continued with an array of surgeries that included nerve repairs, laser surgeries and continued occupational therapy. It has been a long road.
Elisabeth's medical team strongly recommended a myoelectric prosthetic hand which would allow her to complete specialized tasks. Without this hand Elisabeth faced a future marked by limited skills , stunted mobility and a diminished quality of life.
Through the incredible generosity of the concerned public Elisabeth was able to pay for her myoelectric arm and hand.
As she continues her life forward she continues PT, OT, and laser surgeries, Her team of doctors continue to monitor the nerves in her left leg with hopes that she will regain function of her left foot. One of her doctors is considering nerve transfer surgery.
Her healthcare expenses continue to amass and through the generosity of others she will have the opportunity to improve in her new body and continue doing the things she loves including gardening, cooking, exercise, and working as a barista at Starbucks.
