Hey Yo! It's me, ya boy Eliott!
I’m raising funds to help cover the article processing charge (APC) for a General Commentary I am submitting to Frontiers in Physics.
This will be my FIRST peer reviewed submission -- EVER. And I'm super excited about it.
However, DID YOU KNOW that you have to PAY to submit your own dreck!?
I had no idea! I've only been working on this thing for like 9 months, and now - uh-oh -- "half a grand please!" And those are just the preliminary fees!
Welp,
the article is a focused, scholarly response to a recent paper critiquing the simulation hypothesis. Hopefully, this little paper will serve to once and for all eradicate the misunderstanding that the Simulation Hypothesis does NOT mean simulating the whole universe and all of physics. This is a super common misunderstanding. What the simulation hypothesis really proposes is that ONLY your subjective experience needs to be simulated and computed. Nothing more.
The great news is if my article is accepted it will be FREE for all of you to read.
(here I am actually talking about the paper I'm trying to finally submit!)
Submission will be pending peer review, and publication is sadly not guaranteed.
If the article is accepted, your support will help ensure that this work is accessible without paywalls and part of the public scholarly record. If it is not accepted, any funds raised will be redirected toward future open-access publication and my own unending scholastic projects.
Thank you for reading, sharing, or contributing. Supporting open scholarly dialogue—especially outside traditional institutional pipelines—means a great deal to us all!
