Help Eliot Get Back on His Bike

On April 22nd, Eliot went on a bike ride to Prospect Park. He left me a note saying he’d be back by 6PM and I didn’t think much of it. While on his way to the park, Eliot collided head-on with another cyclist.

Instantly Eliot was knocked out and hit his head on the pavement (thankfully he was wearing a helmet). A nearby Citi-biker called 911, but during the 20-minute wait for the ambulance, Eliot endured a seizure. Eventually he was taken to the hospital and the medics contacted me.

After a CT scan and various other exams, he was told he had a severe concussion and amnesia. Eliot doesn’t remember anything about the accident, he struggled to know what was going on and why he was in the hospital. It was difficult to see him in that state, but I was grateful I could be by his side.

Eliot is now at home actively recovering from his concussion, but the accident has been tough. If you know Eliot, you know he loves nothing more than being on his bicycle. In 2019, when he was finally able to get back on his bike after a 4 year hiatus, it was the happiest I have ever seen him.

Although we know there is a long road of recovery ahead of us, this gofundme is to help Eliot get back to doing what he loves and what brings him the most enjoyment out of life. The looming medical bills, a damaged bike and gear, losing several days of work, on top of not being able to ride it hasn’t been easy. So we are asking if you are able to, please donate to Eliot’s fundraiser to help him during this hard time.
