Hello, my name is Sílvio and I wanted to help out an online friend that I met through an online trans community earlier this year.

My friend’s name is Elio, he is 20 years old and is currently living in transitional housing in a transitional housing program in Oklahoma. Elio has been without a permanent home since 2023 after being kicked out of his home due to being transgender.

Elio’s main goal as of right now (asides from finding permanent housing) is to be able to get better transportation for himself. He is seeking out a used moped, as it is the cheapest option for himself. The donation goal would cover the cost of the moped and any additional repairs it may need. Any extra money not spent on the moped will be put into an emergency fund in case EBT gets cut again (Elio relies on food stamps for his groceries), toward insurance on his moped, and/or into savings to be able to move into permanent housing. He lives in a city where public transportation is unreliable, and having consistent transportation would help him get to and from work tremendously. He is currently seeking full-time employment so that he can save up to be able to move in with roommates and attain permanent housing.

Facing housing insecurity is a deeply traumatic experience, and Elio is one of the many trans people that find themselves kicked out due to being transgender.

If we could collectively lift one burden off Elio’s plate, I want it to be this one. I want to use this platform as a way to extend care and compassion toward a friend in need. Even if it’s just $1 or sharing the link of this fundraiser on social media, your kindness is deeply appreciated.
