Meet Elijah Webber – A Little Fighter
We want to share the story of Elijah Webber, who entered the world on Monday, January 27, 2025. Born via C-section at Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies, Elijah was soon admitted to the NICU for monitoring due to his congenital heart disease (CHD). He was diagnosed with pulmonary atresia and tricuspid dysplasia.
Just 24 hours after birth, Elijah’s oxygen levels dropped, and he was placed on a ventilator. He was then transferred to Arnold Palmer Hospital and admitted to the PICU for specialized care. On Friday, January 31, 2025, he will undergo a cardiac catheterization procedure to strengthen his heart. This is just the beginning of his journey—Elijah will need a series of three heart surgeries: the next being an open-heart surgery between 4 and 6 months of age, and the final one when he is 3 to 4 years old. Despite these challenges, Elijah is proving to be a true fighter.
We are reaching out for support to help his parents, Ivana and Thomas Webber, with expenses during this difficult time. Your generosity will assist with medical costs, essential items for Elijah, lodging, and transportation, as Thomas is the sole provider at this time.
While Elijah receives the care he needs, his big brother, Thomas, is staying with his grandparents and eagerly awaiting the moment he gets to meet his little brother.
We will continue to share updates on Elijah’s progress. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness and support.
