Help Elijah's family with a wheelchair van

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Ileha and I'm fundraising for my son Elijah a better way of transportation.

Elijah was born Aiden Waller on March 26,2007. He was born a full term healthy baby boy. Although he was born healthy and happy, he would soon be the victim of abuse and neglect .Elijah was removed from the home where he resided with his mother by Effingham County DFACS and was given to his grandfather until he was around nine months old. When Elijah was around 10 months old, he was beaten and abused by his biological mother. This abuse left him with traumatic brain injury and blindness. He also does not have the ability to talk, walk or eat by mouth. The abuse left Elijah with many more health problems that have developed through the years. April 2020, Elijah also had a major back surgery to prevent his lungs from collapsing. With many prayers, he made it through, although wheelchair bound.

In March,2018, Elijah was placed in my home as a foster child. My family really grew to love this young man and truly wanted him to become a permanent part of our family. Despite his disabilities and his challenges, he also deserved to be loved like all children. Therefore, on January 29,2020 Aiden became Elijah Ayden Robinson after being in foster care 4,380 days. My husband and I became his parents. We became his forever family.

Because Elijah is wheelchair bound and has grown into a teenager, it is getting increasingly harder to lift him into our vehicle when he has doctor visits or when we take him to family events. I suffer from back problems and my husband is a dialysis patient three days a week, and therefore, it is very difficult at times to move him from his bed and get him into our vehicle.

At this time we are asking anyone who can to help us in our endeavor to obtain a wheelchair accessible vehicle so that we will be able to continue caring for Elijah and getting him to his appointments to ensure that we keep him as healthy as possible. No amount is too small. I would like to thank everyone in advance for your contributions to this sweet boys transportation.

Elijah you are a child of God. You are wonderfully made, dearly loved and precious in his sight. Before God made you, he knew you and there is no one else like you. Psalm 139.
