On Monday (3/9/26), my son Elijah (17yrs) was riding his bike home from school when something unimaginable happened. As he crossed the street, a car ran a stop sign and clipped the back of his bike tire. Elijah was thrown from his E bike, rolling several feet across the pavement. The driver didn’t stop—they left him there on the ground, injured and alone. I rushed him to the ER, where we filed a police report and learned this case would be investigated as a felony hit-and-run. Elijah couldn’t feel or move his left arm, and he was in pain from injuries to his stomach and hip. He described it as feeling like “his organs were fighting each other.” His bike was destroyed, leaving him without a way to get to school or work.
While we search for the person responsible, my focus is on helping Elijah recover and regain his independence. He’s a hardworking student who relies on his bike for everything. I’m reaching out to our community for help so that, when he’s better, Elijah will have transportation again and can return to his routine. Your support will make a real difference in his recovery and help us move forward from this traumatic event. Any contribution, big or small, means the world to us. Thank you for standing with us during this difficult time.
