UPDATE:
Good evening everyone! I wanted to give everyone an update on Elijah and his journey. I again want to thank everyone that shared or donated and update you all to show you where your donations have gone to!
Unfortunately we did not raise enough funds to get him into the program we originally were shooting for! But we did start seeing a different doctor that was more affordable. We were able to see this doctor, order more tests, and start a detox with the funds! Since starting detox we have already noticed improvements in Eli! Through the testing we have found that on top of the toxic metals in his urine, blood, and brain, his gut has an overgrowth of yeast, streptococcus, h pylori and other bacteria, and his depleted of all good bacteria. This can lead to delays in his speech, cognitive function, and contributing to a lot of struggles. It has been such a relief to finally be able to start gettig answers and we have such high hopes for him in the future! The funds raised for Elijah have been spent as you see below, and more bills are coming in and more supplements are needed to correct what was found in his tests. If you are able to donate so that we can continue to help Eli we would be so thankful. Even sharing means the world! Thank you so much everyone and I will continue to keep you updated! God bless.
Hello all. My name is Shellby and I’m trying to raise money for my son’s medical expenses. I’m not ever the one to ask for help, but when it comes to what my son needs I will swallow my pride and pray that my community can come together!
This is my son Elijah. He was diagnosed with Autism at the age of 2. It doesn’t run in my family and there is no gene for autism so it blew my mind. I didn’t know much about autism when he was diagnosed, and have spent my time since learning, advocating, and doing everything I could to help my son thrive. Since then he’s had physical therapy, feeding therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and ABA therapy. I’ve been unable to work due to his rigorous schedule and high support needs. My son is nonverbal. It breaks my heart to not be able to talk to him or him be able to communicate his needs with me, to watch him want friends but not know how to communicate with them. We’ve had genetic testing done and an MRI done that all came back fine. He has trouble with eating, no independent skills, no toileting skills, always has dark circles under his eyes, gets sick easily, and has dark strong smelling urine frequently indicating a kidney issue. I knew in my mama heart there had to be more going on. After no help from medical professionals, I ordered a toxic metals urine screening that was recommended to me. We found that Elijah was high in a lot of neurotoxic heavy metals including aluminum, lead, tin, and tungsten which is a flame retardant. How these got into my baby’s body and brain I don’t know. But I know they have to come out. I told this to his pediatrician who ran an aluminum blood test on him that also came back high. She has no clue how to treat him or what to do. These metals can wreak so much havoc on a child’s brain and body if not removed. Feeling defeated and not knowing where to turn I spoke with a friend who recommended doctor potter at sanctuary functional medicine. I looked him up, read the testimonies, and found a mama with a son who has a very similar story to Elijah’s. Dr potter got the heavy metals out of his system and healed his body and this baby can now speak and function. I feel like God has led me here for Elijah. Elijah is a smart, brilliant, sweet 5 year old boy who deserves to be healthy and have the best chance in this life.
I had a consult with Dr potters office and Elijah would need to be in a year long intensive care program. For the program, tests, and treatment it will cost somewhere around $10,000-$12,000. Insurance will not cover this type of doctor and treatment and This is something that my family and I just cannot afford in full right now, but it’s something Elijah desperately needs. If you can find it at all possible to donate whatever you can, or even share my son’s story so that we can get him into this doctor I would be so very grateful. Thank you and God bless!
