Help Elijah Get SDR Surgery
Donation protected
My son, Elijah Noel Vela was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy in 2019.
This condition causes his muscles to be stiff all the time.
This not only makes it hard for him to move but also causes pain that will get worse as he grows.
So I'm doing everything I can to get him something called SDR Surgery.
( S.D.R = Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy )
This procedure can help him walk and prevent alot of future pain- by reducing alot of that stiffness.
The older he gets the harder it will be for him to adjust to the changes from this procedure.
This is because the recovery from SDR is intense.
( since he has to learn how to move without the stiffness he's dealt with for years.)
My wife and I have dedicated a full time effort over the past year to helping him get him strong enough to be considered a good candidate for this procedure.
By the grace of God, Elijah has made huge progress & we're confident he's ready!
Soon we have to travel to visit a doctor out-of-state to confirm if he's finally ready for SDR.
(Which we are confident that he is)
Before that, Elijah has a procedure to replace the screws that are preventing his hips from growing out of place.
In order to help Elijah get to this point I have sacrificed time from work-
which makes it impossible to cover the costs that come along with these things.
And Elijahs insurance won't cover SDR since it will be done out of state.
So as we approach these critical stages, we need your help.
Our goal will cover Elijahs medical expenses and the costs that come along with traveling, & enable us to continue giving him to full time care and support he needs during this season of his life.
Elijah has gotten this far because of you & we can't take this next step without you.
We're fighting to give Elijah a chance while there's still time so we appreciate any kind of support!
