Hello everyone,

My name is Elijah Rios, and I am a soon-to-be graduate of Florida State University’s BFA Acting Program. As a first-generation college student, I’ve worked hard to carve out a path for myself, managing the challenges of being financially independent for the past four years.

I was raised to value resilience and the pursuit of one’s passion, no matter the obstacles. That mindset has carried me through so much, but I now find myself in a difficult position. Balancing tuition, rent, car expenses, and everyday living costs has become overwhelming. Throughout high school, I saved every dollar I could to prepare for this journey, and those savings have carried me this far. But now, as I approach the final stretch, my resources have been depleted, and I need help to cross the finish line.

These next six months in Tallahassee are crucial for me, not only to complete my education but to set the foundation for my career and the life I’ve been working so hard to build. My time at FSU has been transformative—I’ve grown in ways I never expected, told powerful stories, built lifelong connections, and discovered who I truly am.
