Help Elida Purchase Canyon Creek Art & Frame

My name is Elida Capps and I am a picture framer.

I’ve been a self taught artist/creative for the last 15 years. I started framing about 7 years ago in my garage out of sheer necessity. I’m sure any fellow creatives reading can relate to this situation; I had an art show and no frames to display my paintings. So what’s a girl to do? I went to Home Depot and bought a miter saw, some sticks, glue and window glass to build some sad little frames that barely held up long enough for the show, but this is the moment that sparked my interest. I was immediately hooked on framing as an expansion of my art and creativity.

For seven years I’ve worked as a Framing Specialist. During the past four years I’ve had the honor to work for Jerry Cornelius at Canyon Creek Art, which is not your run of the mill frameshop. Jerry produces work for museums, conservators and professional artists. As a member of the Professional Picture Framers Association he has produced museum quality framing and fine art printing for decades, and he graciously taught me the techniques and care that I’ve utilized to properly preserve artwork and further hone my craft. Under his mentorship, I have had the pleasure to work for museums, private collectors, galleries, print fine art for professional artists, and so much more.

After 25 successful years of building and running Canyon Creek Art, Jerry and Barbara have decided that it is now their time to retire and pass on their framing legacy. I find myself facing an incredible opportunity to continue to expand my own passion for the craft of art framing by purchasing Canyon Creek Art, but I need your help.

I’m looking for donations towards my $17,500 down payment on my SBA loan. As we all know, any little bit helps me to reach my goal.
