If you know Elias, you know baseball isn’t just something he does it’s something he’s grown into over the years.
He started playing at 5 years old, watching his older sister on the field and slowly finding his own love for the game. It hasn’t always been easy. There were moments and coaches along the way who made him feel like he wasn’t good enough… but he never let that stop him. He kept showing up, kept putting in the work, and today he’s a freshman playing on his high school team at Sunnyslope.
Elias is naturally quiet, but he’s the kind of kid who builds strong connections and lets his actions speak for him. He’s hardworking, determined, and the type of player who just keeps going even when things get tough.
Recently, he was given an unexpected opportunity to train and compete in the Dominican Republic this summer. A coach who had worked with him in the past remembered the kind of person he is his work ethic, his determination and personally invited him to be part of this experience.
This opportunity is about so much more than baseball. The Dominican Republic is known for its deep-rooted passion, discipline, and respect for the game and the coach specifically wanted players who would truly embody and appreciate that. He saw that in Elias. Not just as an athlete, but as a person who would take it in, learn from it, and grow from the experience both on and off the field.
When we found out, he was beyond excited this will be his first time flying, and he gets to experience it alongside one of his best friends and a team he has a lot of love for.
More than just baseball, this trip means growth.
It’s a chance for him to see a different level of work ethic, to gain confidence, and to be reminded of why he fell in love with the game in the first place.
There was a moment not too long ago where he was close to stepping away from baseball… and this opportunity completely reignited that spark in him.
Funds will go toward:
Training & tournament fees: $1,600
Flights for Elias and myself: $1,200
Lodging (Airbnb with teammates): $700
We’ve already started covering some of the costs ourselves, and anything raised will go directly toward helping get him there.
If you feel called to support Elias on this journey, we would be so grateful. And if you can’t donate, sharing this means just as much to us.
Thank you for being part of his story
