Hi, my name’s Daniella and I’m raising funds in hopes of helping my friend get his stolen truck back home. About a week ago, my friend Elias’ truck was stolen in Broomfield, CO and today he was contacted by authorities stating they found it— at an impound lot in San Diego, CA. My friend is a hardworking young man in his 20’s constantly putting in effort to make ends meet as we all do. He called the impound lot to ask if there was any way he could be given some slack on the finances given the situation and they said their hands were tied. The towing alone and single day it has been in the lot has already racked him with a bill of $370, and since he’s out of state and can’t get the truck himself, he has to go to a notary to get his information notarized to be able to release his truck to a friend out in California. Because of this, the truck will remain overnight through the weekends as the impound lot is closed— collecting another $180 per day, and will stay there until minimum Monday of the upcoming week until his papers are verified. This puts him with a $910 just to take it from that lot, and then expenses to fly out to be able to drive it home. The $910 does not include his flight, gas, or any other accommodations or extra days at the impound lot. I wish I was in a financial position to pay for this in full but I am not, and he’s too sweet and too proud to ask for help so I’m doing it on his behalf.
