Help Eliana Battle Lupus & Prepare for Kidney Transplant

Friends, Family (blood & chosen) and Kind-Hearted Strangers,

We have a heartfelt plea to support our beloved Eliana, a generous friend, a loving wife and a devoted mother of five, who has been courageously battling lupus for years. Eliana's journey has been incredibly tough, and now, she is facing an even greater challenge as her lupus advanced in a very serious way. She is currently undergoing dialysis treatments to prepare for the hope of a kidney transplant.

Eliana and her husband Vinny are cherished members of our local community and own Chefing it Up! Pizza Cafe in downtown Groveland. Lupus, a chronic autoimmune disease, has caused Eliana immense pain and suffering for years, all which she has faced with a positive attitude and upbeat energy. Despite the challenges her condition created, she has always put her family first, helping Vinny manage the café and ensuring her children receive the love and attention they need. However, the relentless progression of the disease has taken a severe toll on her kidneys, necessitating frequent and costly dialysis treatments that will allow her to receive a transplant.

A kidney transplant is sometimes a necessary step for someone with severe lupus, which unfortunately Eliana has. She is building her strength and is on dialysis several times a week to try and prepare her body for the transplant. This procedure could significantly improve her quality of life, but the associated medical expenses are overwhelming. From pre-transplant evaluations to post-surgery care, the financial burden is staggering. Additionally, even after a successful transplant, Eliana will require lifelong anti-rejection medication to ensure her body accepts the new kidney.

Eliana is a fighter, but she cannot do this alone. Our community has the power to make a difference in her life.
