Help Eli Rebuild Strength After Life-Support Battle
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Eli, and I’m a 63-year-old gym enthusiast from East Texas who has always loved staying active and healthy alongside my best friend and wife. Unfortunately, life took a drastic turn when I faced a critical medical emergency, ending up on life support with multi-organ failure.
I was placed on an ECMO machine and spent a significant time fighting for my life. Thankfully, I’ve survived, but the road to recovery is long and challenging.
During my time on life support, I lost 70 pounds of solid muscle. Once a daily gym-goer, I now face the reality of having to rebuild my strength from scratch. Despite the setbacks, I’m determined to get back to my fitness routine, especially the workouts my wife and I enjoyed together.
I’m currently still in the hospital, working through significant side effects and rehabilitation.
When I’m discharged, I’ll require extensive care, medical equipment (like a walker and wheelchair), and continued therapy to regain mobility and independence.
Adding to our challenges, my wife and I recently bought a car that turned out to need $7,000 in repairs after just one week. The dealer had claimed it was in perfect condition, but now the car is unusable. With medical bills, transportation costs, and day-to-day expenses piling up, we’re struggling to make ends meet.
We’re asking for your support to help us with:
Medical bills and ongoing treatments
Transportation (finding a reliable vehicle for my wife)
Gas and travel costs for appointments
Essential medical equipment like a walker and wheelchair
Rehabilitation and home care expenses
Your kindness and generosity can help us navigate this difficult time. I’m incredibly grateful for every contribution and prayer as I work toward recovery.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for considering helping us through this journey.
