Meet Eli: a sweet, soulful husky mix who just turned 9. He’s been Elisebeth’s loyal shadow for nearly his whole life, and now he’s facing something none of us were ready for.
A couple weeks ago, Eli had a bloody nose that wouldn’t stop.
What started as one scary morning unfolded into bloodwork, x-rays, a CT scan, a specialist consult, and over $4,000 in diagnostic bills already spread across three lines of credit. After all of that, Elisebeth got the news no pet parent ever wants to hear:
Eli has nasal cancer. Treatment won’t change the outcome. He only has a few months left.
If you know Elisebeth, you know her dogs aren’t pets—they’re family. She’s the manager of my company, Sasquatch Eco Clean, and she shows up every single day with the same big heart for the people she loves and the work she does. She lost her mom to cancer not long ago, and now she’s facing the loss of one of her best friends in the world.
What makes this even harder is that the hits haven’t stopped coming. Her other dog and Eli’s brother, Damon, is blind and lives with DCM (dilated cardiomyopathy) and severe food allergies—he was due for a heart recheck Elisebeth that has to put off because of all these recent, unexpected expenses. She herself was diagnosed with Type 1 LADA diabetes last summer and is still working with her doctors to dial in the right treatment plan. Between herself and both dogs, she’s juggling SIX different prescriptions. Her car has racked up its own bills on top of everything else. It’s been a brutal stretch for someone who deserves none of it.
Funds raised here will help cover:
• The $4K+ in diagnostic bills already on credit
• Palliative care, pain management, and comfort meds for Eli’s remaining months
• Damon’s overdue heart recheck and ongoing meds for both dogs
• End-of-life care when the time comes
• A little breathing room so Elisebeth can be present with Eli instead of drowning in bills
Anything helps—even a few dollars, even just sharing this page. Every bit eases the weight of what’s already an unbearable situation.
Eli deserves to spend his last months exactly as he’s lived his whole life: loved, comfortable, and curled up next to his person. Thank you for helping us give him that.
