His name is Eli Cane. For 13 years he served on active duty in the U.S. Air Force — an independently operating specialized medic entrusted with a secret clearance. He saved troops, civilians, and allies in some of the hardest moments of their lives. He’s never asked for anything in return.

In 2025, everything changed. Eli was honorably discharged for being a transgender man. He lost his career, his retirement, and access to healthcare overnight. He left the military with integrity and pride in his role as a healthcare provider— but without the support system depended on. Since then, he’s been fighting a battle he never expected.

Eli was stationed in Texas when he was discharged, where the anti-trans legislation is some of the most life-threatening in the country.

Anyone who knows Eli, knows he’ll literally give a stranger the shirt off his back to keep them warm. He’s burned through every dollar he had saved just to keep his home and stay fed/sustain HRT. Three months ago, the money ran out. Hes now facing foreclosure with mere weeks to save the only stability he has left. He can’t afford basic healthcare. He can’t even afford food for his two dogs who have been with him through every deployment and every missed holiday.

Asking for help is very difficult for him as he’s always supported himself and he is hyper-independent. He’s always been the one who stepped up for others. Today, we’re asking for someone to step up for him. Your support will help Eli evacuate Texas, find shelter, reunite with his partner, regain access to life-saving medical care, and ultimately, get back to school so he can rebuild a future he dreams of- starting a non-profit with his partner and becoming a doctor to take care of the most marginalized.
