Elfie is a vixen that had been reported to us from a kind member of the public from Broadstairs, in the December of 2017. Thankfully this family had been feeding Elfie and she had become used to them which allowed them to trap her in their garage. Our volunteer rescuer was sent out with cage and catch pole in hand and as soon as our volunteer rescuer took one look at her it was clear to see she needed medical attention immediately.
Elfie was rushed to the vets straight away and it was confirmed that she had a broken leg. As always we took the advice from the vets and that although this was a nasty break the decision was made to give her a chance. Her leg was pinned into place and a cast was put on. She has had a number of visits to the vets and each time the progress of her health is monitored.

Unfortunately, Elfie needs a second operation to save this leg, this means we urgently need to raise £2700 otherwise or efforts to save her leg will be in vain. Please, please help us save her leg so she can get back to the wild. 

Elife has become somewhat tolerant of us cleaning her cage out and will try and grab the mop as it goes past her cage. As she is on total bed rest she is only allowed out when her cage is being cleaned this gives her the chance to stretch and move about on the cast slowly. She is a beautiful, sentient creature, who appears to realise that we are helping her. She is young and otherwise healthy. She deserves a chance of a full recovery, rehabilitation and released back into the wild where she belongs.
She also is an inquisitive fox and will play with anything that takes her fancy, She loves her food and partially partial to chicks and will lay on top of them until she is ready to eat them and we often find her asleep in her bowl after she has licked it clean.
