Hi, my name is Georgia. I’m the owner of Elevenses Cafe. I’m also the pastry chef. I’m from Astoria and grew up in this neighborhood. I knew it when it was mostly warehouses, construction, and automobile supplies.
I wanted to make a special, comfortable space that, for a moment of tranquil peace, you forget you're in NYC. You could be in your living room; you could be in the Shire. A cafe where all different age groups and lifestyles could enjoy a coffee, a pastry, and could sit next to each other, maybe even talk to one another. Unlike most places that prioritize profit, we prioritize quality local ingredients from small ethical farms and creativity. We are approaching almost 4 years now, and I’m still here every day unless injured. This is what I love; I poured my soul into this place, and I really need your help in surviving. I’ve maintained lower prices despite the rising costs of everything, including our rent, Con Ed, supplies, and ingredients.
We would love to stay open and ask for help with the piling bills.
Your donations will also contribute to hiring another chef and the expansion of our menu (sandwiches, etc.) and opening hours. It will allow me to create a membership program to give back to the regulars. I have a lot of ideas, but I need your help to make these dreams come true.
