Hi friends, family, and community, I’m reaching out humbly during one of the hardest seasons our family has faced. Just two months after being laid off from a job I had worked for for three years, I experienced a medical emergency. My gallbladder ruptured, which required immediate surgery and came with liver inflammation and infection. Recovery has been challenging physically, emotionally, and financially.
Since then, our family has been doing everything we can to stay afloat. We did not qualify for food stamps or most assistance programs, aside from Medicaid. At the moment, taking just any job that could jeopardize our health coverage is not a realistic option, so we are working gig jobs, growing our family business, and continuing to search for stable long-term employment.
Right now, we are asking for help catching up on essential needs, including our electric bill, car payment (needed for work and transportation), rent and housing stability, groceries and household basics, and Abby’s summer art program, which gives our daughter something joyful and creative during a stressful time. We are a hardworking family trying to rebuild after back-to-back setbacks. Any support, no matter the size, would help relieve immediate pressure and give us room to keep moving forward. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page would also mean so much to us. Thank you for your kindness, support, and encouragement. With gratitude, Elena & Family
