My name is Elena, and my husband Wilber and I have three beautiful girls. We live in Florida, and it has taken a lot for me to reach out and ask for help. I have always tried to figure things out on my own, but our situation has become overwhelming. On December 23rd, Wilber was pulled over, dragged out of the car, injured, and ended up in the ICU. Afterward, he was booked in jail. Twenty-six days later, the state dropped the case, but ICE picked him up, and he is now in Krome awaiting a bond hearing. We have been doing everything the right way—Wilber has an approved I-130, a pending green card application, and a pending appeal with the BIA. He has no criminal record and has always been an amazing provider for our family and our girls.
I am currently a preschool teacher, and I have been trying to stay afloat, but I can no longer manage all of our expenses alone. Our mortgage, utilities, groceries, insurance, car payments, and everything our girls need have become too much for me to handle by myself. We are also running into debt for attorney fees. Wilber's health has been deteriorating—he recently fell down the stairs at Krome, was taken to the ER, and is not doing well. He has lost so much weight, and all we can do is pray that he comes home soon.
From the bottom of our hearts, we appreciate any support you can offer, whether it's a prayer or a small donation. Thank you for helping our family during this difficult time.
