Hello friends and family! I am Elena's sister, Leti. I am coming to you on behalf of our small family to share Elena's medical journey. As some of you may know, Elena has a benign brain tumor. Although it was just discovered last year, she has been living with it for about 15 years! We have been driving her to MD Anderson for treatment. The doctors are suggesting Elena remove the tumor now before it becomes an emergency situation. She is scheduled for brain surgery at the end of July. We are asking for help with all expenses related to such a major surgery. I will be managing all donations, which will go directly towards transportation, pre- and post-operative lodging, medical bills, and post-operative care.

Elena is a blessing to so many of us! She has been an elementary school teacher for 22 years. She is a devoted teacher and dance team coach. She is the kind of teacher who always says yes. She is a dog mom and a beloved daughter to Javier and Delia. "Hairry" is a surrogate mom to her three nieces, Victoria, Gabrielle, and Alexandra, whom she jokes that she birthed. Elena is fun-loving, generous, and kind to everyone she meets. She never hesitates to help others and always supports her community through countless fundraisers, raffles, and donations.
