Friends, I've decided to start this Go Fund Me campaign because our dear Elena Bennett needs our help. She's on the verge of being evicted.

The last few years for Elena have just been one misfortune after another. The death of her father (which caused her to go into a severe depression) followed by a major car accident where a police car plowed into her during a car chase. She was recently admitted to the hospital after a particularly bad flu left her badly dehydrated. And now she is sadly being threatened with eviction. It’s just been a tidal wave of obstacles to contend with that she's been trying to tackle on her own, but it's become too much.

If you know Elena, you know that she is the type of person who shows up when you need her and would give you the shirt off her back if she thought it would help you. She took excellent care of her dad and stepmom during the pandemic, but their estate planning was not handled well, and after her stepmom passed away, Elena wasn’t legally entitled to anything so she's feeling very much alone. I’ve started this Go Fund Me in hopes of giving our girl some relief. Can we help her get back on her feet? I know times are tough, but please contribute if you can. And if you can’t, please reach out and show her some love and encouragement. She could really use some TLC right now. She’s been sober since 2020, no easy feat and an accomplishment to be admired. She still has her job at the theater, but it’s just not enough to dig her out of this hole. All of these events I mentioned along with the legal costs of her divorce, the lack of work during the pandemic, and having to move several times, have just set her too far back.

Elena is hoping to remain in her apartment. She has two senior cats that are very attached to her and really can’t be re-homed. But, if you do know of another living situation that might be good for her, please let her know.
