My name is John Wernega. I formed an A cappella group at Quinton Township School called the "Wildcat Chord Ringers." At this point, they are the only elementary/middle school group in the country that sings four-part barbershop. We will be performing in the Midwinter Barbershop Convention for thousands of viewers in Pasadena, California in January, 2026. We need to raise $20,000 in order to pay for airfare and hotel rooms. I have brought students to these conventions in the past, and several of the participating students were so inspired that they the made music a lifelong pastime. Some of these students are have a degree in music, one is currently teaching music in a public school, and one is currently a barbershop chorus director. These events are life changing events.
