Help Eleanor bring Turandot to life in London and beyond

As an Australian Opera Singer, it has always been my desire and my dream to perform here in Australia and wherever else I am able to. I have dedicated my whole life to the art of operatic singing and performance.

Opera is the Olympics of the singing and staging world, and to train as an Operatic Dramatic Soprano takes time, dedication, passion, personal sacrifice, determination and financial support. Developing my voice has been, and continues to be, an ongoing process.

As a result of my extensive studies in Australia and overseas, I have gained a secure vocal technique, and one that will see me singing many roles across several genres if I am given the opportunity to do so.

Further study of the roles I am ready to sing now, requires specialist input from professionals who are preparing and conducting this repertoire on a regular basis. The opportunity to sing the roles that suit me in production is an extremely rare thing as my voice is now suited to main roles, and ones that are sufficiently demanding and require a certain amount of experience in order to be trusted with them.

In 2023 I was very fortunate to win the Opera Awards in Australia, which allowed me to travel to Europe. I made good connections with Coaches and Conductors there and I developed further my repertoire and knowledge. I attended performances and when possible, I attended auditions, which led to me being invited to sing the roles of Tosca in Germany, and Turandot in London. I had help to do those activities, and I am very grateful to those who helped me do them.

I have now been invited to return to the UK and sing Turandot in a different venue and with a different conductor.

For this opportunity, there is no accommodation or expenses provided, but the opportunity to sing and develop this role further is invaluable.

It is a rare opportunity to sing such a role with orchestra and a great team, so I have accepted the offer. In order to undertake this opportunity, I will need financial assistance. The assistance I am seeking will cover the cost of accommodation in London, travel and living expenses while there, then ongoing flights in Europe.

Whenever I am in Europe I always engage in any and every opportunity (often last minute and costly), to further my craft and of course to secure vital auditions if they arise. Travel within Europe is not inexpensive, so these costs are also part of what is required for me to make this next trip worthwhile and effective.

I have been extremely fortunate in that I have been given an Award for a study opportunity which will see me in Rome this year. I will be there for 3 weeks in October. To make the most of this opportunity, I would like to include the performance in London prior to this visit to Rome and then travel to Germany afterwards to audition so that I can make the most of being overseas, which is a wonderful opportunity I have been given.

How long I stay on afterwards may depend on how long it is possible regarding funding or work. For a Dramatic Soprano at my stage, I need to be performing the roles I am now ready to sing.

The best teacher for me now is performance, and performing a role like Turandot, will continue to develop the stamina required to sing further and more demanding roles.

My great desire is to sing in Australia, and to bring my talent and craft home. I would love to sing with our great companies and communities, in the repertoire I feel I was born to sing.

No matter where I am based, singing at home will remain a dream of mine.
