Help My Best Friend Ele Rebuild After Losing Her Childhood Home in the Fires
My heart is breaking for my best friend, Ele. She’s the kind of person who is always putting others first, and now she’s facing an unimaginable crisis.
Ele and her family lost their childhood home in the devastating fires in Altadena. Decades of memories are gone, but what makes this loss even more devastating is its impact on her father, who suffers from dementia. The home was his anchor to the past, filled with familiar objects and surroundings that helped him hold on to precious fragments of his memory. Now, with everything gone, we fear the loss of those tangible reminders could accelerate his decline.
As a result of this crisis, Ele’s dad is in urgent need of relocation, and her husband begins chemotherapy for cancer today. It feels like life has thrown everything at her at once, yet she remains strong and selfless through it all.
I know so many people are in need right now because of these fires. We’re all being pulled in so many directions, and I know we’re all stretched thin. But I’m asking from the depths of my heart—if you love me, you would love Ele, and if you love me, I’m asking you to help her.
The funds raised will go toward helping relocate Ele’s dad and secure temporary housing and cover her family’s living expenses during her husband’s critical cancer treatment.
Ele is one of the most incredible, loving, and selfless people I know. She would never hesitate to help anyone in need, and now it’s her turn to receive the love and support she’s always given so freely.
Please donate if you can, and if giving isn’t possible right now, sharing this fundraiser with your network will also help more than you know. Together, we can show Ele that even in her darkest moments, she’s not alone.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for anything you can do to help.
