Hadley and I recently returned from a medical mission in Nyamira, Kenya, where we worked alongside local clinicians caring for patients with limited resources and many barriers to care. While we went there to serve, we came home deeply affected by the people we met—especially Eldrick. Eldrick is 23 years old and just celebrated his birthday on April 11. On that day, he shared a moving post about becoming the best version of himself, advocating for his future, and building a life of purpose and discipline. His sincerity and determination stood out to us immediately.

Eldrick recently finished his schooling and passed all his classes. Now, he is studying for his nursing licensure exam so he can continue his journey to become a nurse and provide care to those in need. However, since he is no longer a student, he has lost access to the computers at his school. Currently, Eldrick is working on a farm outside of Nairobi and saving money for a computer so he can continue studying. He says it will take over a year to generate enough money to afford the computer, study materials, and the licensing fees. Despite these challenges, Eldrick remains lighthearted and ambitious, determined to overcome the obstacles in his path.

We are raising money to buy Eldrick a laptop so he can study more consistently, access practice materials, and continue moving forward professionally. This is not about giving someone a luxury—it’s about removing a very real barrier for a young man who is already doing everything he can to help himself and his community. Hadley and I will cover any remaining amount needed, so every donation will directly help make this gift possible. Anything in excess of our goal will go toward Eldrick's exam and licensing fees.
