Help elderly survivors of North Beach fire

This fundraiser is for our lovely elderly neighbors impacted by the fire: Carlos, Mayra, and Albert. They have been living in this apartment building for over 30 years and lost everything overnight.

Carlos "the kid" Loya was a boxer back in the day. His dream was to make a movie about the apartment building where he has lived for over 30 years, for which he has collected pictures and memories, waiting for someone to help him make it happen. He has trained with Mohammed Ali and along with Mayra, they have been a staple of North Beach and Fisherman's Wharf during that time. Carlos is now struggling with the sequels of his boxing career which makes this especially hard on them.

Albert is a longtime bartender in a local Pub. He lost his old 4runner and fishing gear among all of his possessions. He had to be hospitalized after needing to be rescued by the firefighters.

Our neighbors have taken such good care, not only of the apartments but have always looked after the community. Now we feel like it's our turn to take care of them.

Connie's birthday was the same day the fire happen and mine is coming in a week. Please gift us with your help to this lovely bunch, nothing would make us happier than seeing them pull through.
