Three months after finally paying off their home, my family experienced a devastating loss—one that occurred during the Christmas season, a time usually meant for warmth, family, and celebration. My two elderly parents—immigrants who came to the United States with essentially nothing—spent decades working hard, sacrificing, and saving to build a stable life. Their home was not just a house; it represented a lifetime of perseverance, hope, and resilience.
During the holidays, a house fire severely damaged their home and left them displaced. While we are grateful that everyone survived, the home is no longer safe to live in, and the emotional and financial impact has been overwhelming. Unfortunately, my parents did not have fire insurance, which means they are facing the full cost of cleanup, repairs, and rebuilding on their own. For two seniors who never imagined starting over at this stage of life, this has been incredibly difficult.
This fundraiser is being created to help support my parents during this challenging time. Funds raised will go toward temporary housing for my parents and their dog, food, clothing, daily necessities, cleanup, remediation, repairs, and rebuilding costs, and replacing essential household items. At their age, navigating displacement, housing repairs, and major financial strain is extremely challenging. Any contribution—no matter the amount—will help restore stability, safety, and dignity as they work to rebuild their home. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser is a meaningful way to help. We are deeply grateful for your kindness, prayers, and support during this painful chapter. Thank you for standing with our family.
