My husband, Elby, is fighting for his life, and we are reaching out because we can no longer carry this battle alone. His rare, incurable cancer has de-stabilized since February, and unless we can stabilize it or find a treatment capable of shrinking the tumors, the time he has left is heartbreakingly shorter than we ever expected.

Elby’s Diagnosis: A 1-in-5-Million Cancer
At just 27 years old, Elby was diagnosed with Stage 4 Fibrolamellar Hepatocellular Carcinoma (FLC/FL-HCC) — an extremely rare liver cancer that affects only 1 in 5 million people.
There is no cure.
There is no standard treatment.
Every option is experimental, unpredictable, and incredibly expensive.
⸻
A Year of Brutal Treatments — and New, Urgent Complications
This year alone, Elby has undergone:
• 10+ rounds of radiation
• 26+ chemo and immunotherapy infusions.
The previous year he did 25+ chemo and immunotherapy treatments as well as radiation to his body. He is fighting with all he's got!
Despite everything he’s endured, the cancer is aggressive. It has now spread to his chest and the bone in his head, and after multiple rounds of radiation, we received devastating news:
The Radiation Failed.
The tumors are growing again — fast.
We now have to pursue proton therapy as soon as possible, which offers more precision and a better chance of slowing the growth. But proton therapy is expensive, highly specialized, and often requires travel to one of only a few centers that provide it.
We’ve Already Sacrificed Almost Everything
Up until now, we’ve had no insurance at all, only local programs to help, and every scan, treatment, and appointment has been paid fully out of pocket, which is still thousands overall!
To keep up, we’ve sold almost everything we could — including Elby’s daily, drift car, the car he loved and planned to use to raise awareness for rare cancer research. Letting it go broke his heart, but we had no choice.
We are newlyweds trying to hold on to the future we dreamed of, even as cancer keeps taking more from us.
Elby’s One Remaining Dream
Even with everything he’s going through, there is one thing that still brings Elby joy: the dream of owning his own car again. He loves g35/350z/370z platform which is the same kind of car Elby had to sacrifice to stay alive.
To most people, it’s “just a car,” but to Elby, it represents:
• Hope
• Joy
• Freedom
• A moment of feeling alive again
• A way to raise awareness for FLC
• A symbol of his fight
He wants to turn it into a rolling tribute to his battle — something that sparks conversations, spreads awareness, and inspires others to support rare cancer research.
Why We Need Your Help
We are drowning under:
• Medical bills
• Co-pays and deductibles
• Proton therapy costs
• Treatment and medication expenses
• Travel to specialized cancer centers
• Daily living costs while fighting an unforgiving illness
We are giving this fight everything we have — but we can’t do it alone anymore.
