Help Elaine Give Melvin a better Life

My name is Elaine Edwards. I'm a preschool teacher at McKendree Preschool and Kindergarten.

In October, I found Melvin, an 8-week-old kitten, on Duluth Hwy.

After a couple of vet visits and an emergency visit, he was diagnosed with a urinary blockage that prevents him from being able to ever empty his bladder.

Because of Melvin's illness, he is on a special prescription diet, which is very expensive.

My veterinarian, Kristy Baranik, attempted the surgery but there were complications and she was unable to continue.

Dr. Kristy referred me to a specialist.

Melvin was evaluated at the University of Georgia Veterinary Teaching Hospital in Athens by Dr. Kristen Hamilton and her team.

The cost of Melvin's surgery is $4,500.

Melvin is almost 9 months now and is happy but unable to control his bladder.
