Help Elaine Overcome Medical and Financial Strain

Elaine Bailey is a type 2 diabetic. A cold brought on by the rhinovirus jump-started diabetic ketoacidosis. A three-day struggle with keeping food down and keeping her energy up prompted her husband to take charge and get Elaine to the ER.

This choice did not come lightly due to the whole of Florida residence actively preparing and bracing for Hurricane Milton. After the ambulance ride, Elaine spent 2 days in the ICU for kidney failure, before another stay in a regular room. The hospital is out of her network for insurance.

This has and will continue to put an incredible burden on her day-to-day finances. Elaine’s husband has been supportive in this time. However, between his disability and the care of their daughter, they are stretched incredibly thin.
