Help El Buen Sazón Rise From the Ashes

Dear Friends, Family, and Community,

We are heartbroken to share that our beloved family-owned restaurant, El Buen Sazón, located in Attleboro, MA, was destroyed in a tragic fire—just shy of reaching two full months in business.

El Buen Sazón was a dream years in the making, brought to life by three godmothers and lifelong friends—Delmy Amaya, Guadalupe, and Sonia Cardona—known lovingly in our community as las comadres. As proud women of Salvadoran and Guatemalan heritage, we set out to create a space where our culture, flavors, and warmth could be shared with everyone. A place where pupusas, tamales, guisados, and homemade tortillas could transport you home with every bite.

Opening our doors felt like a miracle—something we poured our hearts, savings, and souls into. In just a few weeks, we watched El Buen Sazón become a gathering place for families, friends, and food lovers from all walks of life. We were finally living our dream.

Then, without warning, a devastating fire tore through our space and left it in ruins.

Though we are grateful no one was physically hurt, the emotional and financial toll is overwhelming. Everything we worked so hard for—our kitchen, equipment, supplies, and space—was lost. As a small, self-funded business, we don’t have the means to recover on our own.

We are asking for your support—whether through a donation or simply by sharing our story—to help us rebuild and reopen El Buen Sazón.
