For the past three years, I have been homeless, living in my car with my two beloved dogs. Two years ago, I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS), which has made life even more challenging. Despite everything, I have done my best to care for my dogs and myself, but it has been a daily struggle.

At the beginning of October, I was accepted into a brand new income-based apartment. I have waited so long for a safe place to call home, but the apartments were still under construction, and I couldn’t move in until the end of November. Yesterday, I finally got the call that I can move in this weekend. However, I need a security deposit, and my car is breaking down badly. I have no money until the 1st, and most of that will go toward rent, leaving me unable to cover the deposit or fix my car. My car needs major repairs, including the rack and pinion, CV joints, sway bar, power steering pump, and radiator.

Having a safe place to live will allow me to start treatments for my MS and hopefully halt any further damage to my body, mind, and spirit. I love my dogs immensely, and it breaks my heart that I haven’t been able to provide a real home for them. The depression from this situation has taken a toll on me and made my MS worse. Reliable transportation is also essential for me to get to my doctor appointments and treatments, especially since my MS affects my ability to walk.

I am asking for help so I can finally have a home for myself and my dogs, start my MS treatments, and fix my car so I can get to my appointments. Any support would mean the world to us and help me move forward with hope.
