Eira Goransson, not only a dedicated medical professional from Durban South Africa, but she is a sister, daughter and a loving friend, she has been living a life of unrelenting pain and discomfort since 2022. Her world was turned upside down when she was diagnosed with Spontaneous Intracranial Hypotension (SIH) due to a spinal Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF) leak.

The symptoms have been nothing short of debilitating: excruciating orthostatic headaches, blurry vision, tinnitus, dizziness, cognitive impairment, dysesthesias, and back pain. Simple tasks, like standing or walking, have become daunting challenges. Most of her days are spent lying down

As a physiotherapist with many specialities under her belt such as sports, Orthopaedic manipulation ,and Visceral manipulation therapy , Eira is passionate about helping others regain their strength and mobility. She has also spent great deal of her time, volunteering , preaching in her community. But now, she's unable to run her practice, stripped of her independence and forced to rely on others for daily care.

The cruel irony is that Eira's condition requires specialized surgical expertise, which is not available in South Africa. Her only hope lies in seeking treatment abroad, specifically at the renowned Klinik Fur Neurochirurgie in Freiburg, Germany.
