Hello. My name is Eileen, and I am a poor, elderly, disabled woman who is in desperate need of help.

Many years ago, I was in a severe car accident that gave me severe PTSD and also wrecked my body. Every moment of every day, I am in severe pain. My hips and joints are held together by metal plates and screws, and I struggle to walk and to do basic tasks. Emotionally and physically, this crash devastated me. And recently, I had to relive that trauma when I got into an accident again.

My car was totaled, and I've been barely holding it together since. I can barely eat or sleep, and I'm so depressed that I am hardly functioning.

I did get a used car to replace the one that was totaled, but now that car is in the shop needing repairs that are estimated to cost around $2,000. I am too disabled to work and am barely scraping by with my disability checks, so I don't have the money to spare.

There are so many areas in my life where I've had to make sacrifices due to lack of finances. My teeth are falling out because I can't afford dental care. I don't go to doctors because I don't have insurance and can't afford out of pocket visits. But not having a car affects more than just myself. My daughter, who works to help take care of me, relies on my car as well. I could write this off as just another thing I have to live without, but I know my daughter can't.

So, I'm asking for any help people can afford to give. I understand I'm asking a lot, and that there are plenty of people more deserving and in need than I, but I just can't watch my child be late to work because of unreliable public transportation anymore. And I don't want them to be unable to do anything else they need to do or be unable to go where they need to go just because I can't afford it.

If there's any money leftover from this campaign once the car is repaired, I'd like to use it to fix my teeth, or at least get dentures so I can eat again. I hope that's not me asking too much.
