Supporting Eileen Through Her Cancer Journey
In 2023, Eileen was diagnosed with ocular (eye) melanoma, a very rare form of cancer. She underwent radiation treatment that successfully eradicated the original tumor, and for a time, it seemed she had cleared that hurdle.
Unfortunately, in late summer of 2025, Eileen received devastating news: the same melanoma had metastasized to her liver. Ocular melanoma is extremely rare, and once it spreads to the liver, treatment options are limited and not highly effective.
After careful consideration, Eileen has made the decision to relocate back to New York State to transfer her care to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, one of the leading institutions in the world for cancer treatment. This move gives her the best possible chance and access to specialized care.
The financial burden of this transition is significant. Frequent travel, lodging, meals in New York City quickly add up, along with moving costs from Florida back to New York State to be closer to family, creating stress at a time when Eileen’s focus needs to be on her health and healing.
We are raising funds to help ease these costs so Eileen can concentrate on navigating this overwhelming health challenge without the added weight of financial strain. Any contribution—no matter the size—will make a meaningful difference. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page and keeping Eileen in your thoughts means more than you know.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support during this incredibly difficult time.
