Help Eileen and Jennifer Move Across the Country

Hello all—we are a married couple (Jen and Eileen) attempting to move from California to Eileen’s hometown of Shepherdstown, West Virginia. We can no longer afford the prohibitive cost of living in California, and therefore we need to move ASAP. We have signed a lease for an apartment in Shepherdstown and are all ready to go, but the expenses involved in moving from one end of the country to the other are beginning to pile up, and we are worried about being able to move our furniture, our pets, and ourselves in a timely manner. We are currently surviving week to week, both working full-time as educators while relying on side-hustles and freelance work in order to just scrape by. We cannot maintain this dire financial situation much longer, and therefore it is imperative that we are able to move by December 1st. We deeply appreciate anything you can spare to assist us in starting our new life together in Eileen’s hometown, where the cost of living is affordable and we will finally have family and community support that neither of us currently have access to in California.

Some further info: Jen is a trans woman and has no family to turn to for support. Financially speaking, we are both entirely on our own, and have been struggling greatly to get by without the kind of support that many of our peers have. Because of this, we are asking you all to please consider assisting us in entering a much more feasible living situation.
