My nephew, Efriem Twolde Haile, has been a pillar of our community and a source of pride for Eritrea. For over ten years, he played for the national soccer team and the Red Sea team, inspiring many with his dedication and talent. After his playing career, Efriem became a coach for the Red Sea team, leading them to four consecutive championships. His commitment to the sport and his country has touched countless lives.

Last September, Efriem suddenly fell ill. After consulting with his doctor, Dr. Yosief Yohannes, he underwent surgery and had a biopsy sent outside Eritrea for further analysis. The results were devastating: Efriem was diagnosed with cancer. His doctor strongly recommended that he seek treatment abroad, as the necessary care is not available in Eritrea. The financial burden of medical bills, travel, and living expenses for treatment outside the country is far beyond what our family can manage.
