Our sister Effie was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of Breast Cancer. Thank goodness she has been doing her Mammograms yearly, due to losing our mom to Breast Cancer, and they found it early. They are calling it Stage 1, but that may change as they still are doing tests to learn more. 
Effie has been having 3-5 doctor appointments a week as she goes through all the testing, then will start an aggressive regimen of  Chemotherapy. After that, they will do a double mastectomy.
Teachers do not have good healthcare insurance. Sandpoint, Idaho does not have the same resources we have here in the Seattle area. She and Damien are incurring a lot of costs between co-pays of $60 each visit and paying for gas to get to Coeur d'Alene, Post Falls, and Spokane for her various appointments. She is also very worried about losing her hair and would like to get a wig, but her insurance won't cover that, either. 
Jan and Paula are setting up this Go Fund Me to help Effie and Damien with these costs as we don't know what other costs are coming down the road. She has a friend in Sandpoint who has also set up a Meal Train for them and you can find that on Effie's Facebook page.
