Eevee is our sweet 7-year-old cat who has been a cherished part of our family since she was a kitten. She’s always been independent and loves to do her own thing, but when she wants affection, she’ll jump right into your lap, head boop you, and flop down with her whole weight like she belongs there. She loves getting under the blankets and will lay with you for hours. Eevee has grown up alongside our son, Calin, and the two of them share a special bond. Calin doesn’t fully understand what’s happening right now—only that his best friend is very sick—and it’s been incredibly hard on him.
This week, Eevee’s health started to decline rapidly. We were able to get her into the vet, where X-rays and blood work revealed fluid around her heart and lungs. The vet suspects lymphoma, but we’re still waiting on further diagnostics. They removed 30mls of fluid from her chest and sent her home with medication and an IV drip to help her stay comfortable until we know more. We’re doing everything we can to keep her comfortable and give her the best chance possible, but the cost of diagnostics and possible treatment is more than we were prepared for.
We hate having to ask for help, but we can’t do this alone. Anything donated will go directly toward Eevee’s vet bills and treatment. If you’re able to donate, share, or even just keep her in your thoughts and prayers, it would mean so much to our family during this incredibly difficult time.

Update on Eevee,
When I picked her up from the vet yesterday, she was in good spirits and somewhat like her normal self. They sent us home with an IV bag, Gabapentin, and Mirtazapine transdermal ointment to help with her appetite.
She seemed to be doing pretty well until about 2, when she became sluggish again. I gave her 50 ml of fluids through her IV and some Gabapentin. I fell asleep between 2:30–3:00 and woke up around 5:00 with her laying next to me. She seemed to be doing okay at that point.
I fell back asleep until around 7:00, and when I woke up, she seemed very weak again. She did eat a whole tube of Churu for me, but she’ll walk a little bit and then have to lay down.
I feel absolutely terrible and keep wondering if I’m just making her suffer, but I want to give her a chance. I’ve never had to go through this with any fur baby I’ve ever had, and it’s absolutely heartbreaking.
Please continue keeping all of us in your prayers ♥️
Update 3/31
We took Eevee to the vet yesterday to go over the test results from the fluid that was pulled from her chest. Based on how she had been doing over the weekend, we truly thought it might be time to let her go peacefully.
But then… she surprised us.
She did a complete 180—acting much more like herself, walking around at the vet, and even being alert and engaged. It turns out our poor girl had likely just been very sedated from the gabapentin all weekend.
As for the test results, the oncologist did not find any cancer cells, which was a huge relief. However, they did see signs of an infection, but unfortunately the results were inconclusive as to exactly what kind.
The plan for now is to treat her with a long-lasting antibiotic shot (that lasts about two weeks) and switch her to a different pain medication to keep her comfortable.
Last night, Eevee gave us such a special gift. She was walking around, meowing, climbing into our laps for cuddles, and even jumped up on the couch to lay under the blanket with me, purring. She also ate some hard food, which made us so happy to see.
Today she seems tired again, but we’re hoping it’s just her body working hard to fight off the infection along with the antibiotics.
Our CareCredit balance is now at $1,436.61 from just two vet visits. We are really hoping and praying she pulls through this.
As always, thank you all so much for your continued thoughts, prayers, donations, and love. It truly means everything to our family ♥️
