my name is edwina (26) and i am at risk of eviction because my younger sister/roommate (20) refuses to pay her portion of the rent that’s due from march and april.

she is deliberately not paying what she owes despite promising to and plans to move out before our lease is up, leaving me at risk of being homeless since i can not secure a place of my own at this time due to the outstanding balance from our current residency. which will make it even more difficult in the future for me to do if i get evicted and the amount owed gets sent to collections.

this is not even a matter of she couldn’t afford the rent but instead she chose to travel to the cities multiple times and out of state, buy herself new things, etc. i have tried to negotiate with her but she made it clear she doesn’t care about my well-being nor wants to pay what she owes. for the last two years of living together i had been the one mainly covering our bills while she was repeatedly quitting/being fired from jobs.

i have already paid my portion and it not fair that i now have to scramble by and beg for help but here i am.
